The Seahorse Pub has always enjoyed a good reputation as one of Gosport's friendliest and most welcoming pubs with a restaurant that offers a wide range of exciting dishes, based upon the ethic of employing fresh ingredients from local suppliers.
The head chef, Simon Leonard, has created a relaxed and ambient setting in which to eat.
Simon has over 15 years culinary experience and the restaurant offers a menu which provides a wide range of traditional and speciality dishes.
There is an ever changing specials board, which contains more exciting and unusual dishes.
These mouth-watering meals ensure that the menu offers something new to even the most regular of customers.
Chef Simon said: 'My aim is to provide each and every customer with a satisfying meal and I take great pride in offering a menu that is slightly different to the usual pub fare.'
The Seahorse Pub is a family establishment, with Pat and her daughter Gail running the pub and
Simon, Gail's husband, as the head chef.
Pat and her family have a long association with the Seahorse pub, having run it as managers for Bass Brewery for eight years in the late 1990s, before returning to purchase the leasehold in 2002.
Pat has invested heavily in the refurbishment of the whole pub in the four years since her return and she takes great pride in having created a pub that is much loved by its
regulars and continues to wow new customers.
Pat's vision was to create a pub that provides a relaxing environment in which to eat and drink
and is pleased that they are now able to offer a high class restaurant that is different to anything else that you will find in the area.
She has always felt there are too many pubs taking the 'branding' route, offering artificial and unsatisfying meals and intends that Seahorse will buck that trend. Having an excellent chef ensures
that The Seahorse provides the quality of food that customers deserve.
Pat has been very excited by the feedback she has been getting from customers since the refurbishment and new menu was introduced and is pleased to see so many happy faces enjoying the new dishes.
The Seahorse staff look forward to welcoming you and they hope that you will enjoy the culinary experience that is on offer.
